This may be more of a Windows question, but i wanted to ask here in case there is something with SQL Server that I'm not aware of.
I have a folder on our network that shows 1 bak file in it when using Windows Explorer. But when I look at the same directory while trying to attach a db to the sql server instance from the same folder I see a lot more files. There are a total of 9 files(other mdf and ldf files) when viewed through the "Locate Database Files" dialog while attaching.
Why are these files not visible in Windows Explorer, but they are with the "Locate Database Files" dialog while attaching?
I initially thought this was a Windows Folder Options issue, but didn't see anything that would cause it. My local machine uses Windows 7 and the server the directory resides in is Server Enterprise.
